Gleb Stroganov — design engineer

Good tools assume their user is smart. I've spent a decade on that premise as a design engineer at Evil Martians — developer IDEs, canvas editors, and now agent debuggers. I design the product and ship the code, mostly for dev-tool and AI startups.

Open source: AgentPrism for AI agent observability, Storybook Workbench for auditing vibe-coded UIs with agent skills, Harmony for accessible color palettes.

Off the clock I collect vinyl, chase festivals, and play everything from bass to modular synths.

Agent Prism

Problem

AI agents fail silently: they loop, skip steps, and return wrong answers. Manual log-scrubbing stretches incidents from minutes to hours while redundant model calls burn budget.

Solution

React components that turn raw OpenTelemetry traces into views you can read:

  • A hierarchical tree view
  • A timeline with execution flow and real-time cost
  • A details panel and sequence diagram for step-by-step replay

Results

  • Quotient AI runs it in production, debugging cut from 4 hours to 30 seconds
  • 80% less debug time, 60% less memory
  • Vibe-coded 12 component options, validated down to the 4 views that earned their place
  • A Figma UI kit with design tokens and a semantic color system, plus drop-in React components: TypeScript, zero config

Miru Labs

Problem

Security and fraud investigation teams juggle fragmented tools and siloed workflows, losing context across domains. Manual correlation turns minutes of thinking into hours of mechanical work.

Solution

A graph-native investigation platform for a VC-backed Irish cybersecurity startup:

  • Workspaces for manual and AI-assisted investigations
  • Agentic Dispatch for autonomous triage
  • StratoGraph for persistent investigation memory

Results

  • Working MVP shipped after a 7-month collaboration
  • Led frontend and NodeJS backend: technical strategy and product thinking
  • Brought in trusted SRE, backend, and AI specialists to unblock the hard calls
  • Team reached independent capability, freeing founders for their next raise

GMI Cloud

Problem

GMI Cloud, a GPU cloud provider, needed to lift conversions and win the market fast, without the internal resources for a full redesign.

Solution

A complete Webflow redesign, built to move:

  • Custom templates with 3D Spline visuals
  • Conversion-optimized product pages
  • A CMS and multilingual foundation for future growth

Results

  • 12 pages shipped in 3.5 weeks
  • Interactive 3D pages, with 50%+ of traffic on mobile
  • 10 posts migrated, 3 languages live
  • A non-technical marketing team now runs the site on its own

Lab

Tools and prototypes I build to fix problems I keep hitting — and see them differently.

  • Hero Lab preview

    Hero Lab

    Live

Hero sections tuned in the browser: a WebGL dithering background with every parameter wired to a control, template artboards at three breakpoints, and a layer view that adds one setting at a time — push it around, then copy the config straight into code.

    WebGL, React, Paper shaders

  • UI Guides & Agent Rules preview

    UI Guides & Agent Rules

    Live

Web UI principles made interactive: 300+ rules, each with a good/bad example you can tab through, plus a copy-paste MUST/SHOULD/NEVER rule your coding agent can read.

    React, TypeScript, a11y

  • Sound Playground preview

    Sound Playground

    In progress

Modular synth in the browser. Morphing oscillators, a melody sequencer, mixer, filters, LFOs and effects with real audio and CV wiring — patch your own system or start from a template.

    Tone.js, React, SVG

  • OKLCH Color Lab

    In progress

Color-science toolbox as MCP tools — palettes, gamut checks, and contrast fixes an AI agent can call directly.

    MCP, TypeScript

  • Component Gallery

    Planned

An agent-driven canvas for exploring UI components: spatial previews, live props, an agent as co-navigator.

  • Agent Skills Catalog

    Planned

Interactive index of my public agent-skills repo — browse, filter, and install skills for coding agents.

  • Vinyl Shelf

    Planned

My record collection as a browsable wall of cover art. The analog corner of the site.

Working together

Best fit: developer-tool and AI-agent startups, seed to Series B, with a real product to ship. I take it end-to-end, design through production code, in weeks rather than months. Brief me at strongeron@evilmartians.com or through Evil Martians’ contact form.
